Nicole’s Story
I was born in England is 2000 in a town called Hemel Hempstead not far from Watford. My parents moved to England from South Africa which we went back and forth quite a bit. They decided to move back to South Africa for 18 months, which soon decided it wasn’t a life and the danger of living there were too high. I have two brothers & have always been more interested in doing such as being outdoors and playing sports.
In 2010 we moved to Australia for a better life as my parents wants us to have the lifestyle they had with the warm weather and the beach. We moved to Melbourne, inland to the Mornington Peninsula. I have always loved going to the beach going on long walks and spending time exploring. I moved to Gold Coast with my partner for a lifestyle change and won’t be moving back.
Growing up I was always taking singing lessons and taking an opportunity that came to me. I took part in some competitions and sang in front of my school ( near 2000 people on multiple occasions). Once VCE started I focused on my studies and singing had to take a backseat.
From VCE in year 12 I have always known the career path of health was my calling as I have also felt such great fulfilment from helping others. In year 10 I went to an open day at a sports clinic which gave me the opportunity to see various health care professionals and what they did as jobs. This is where I first heard about Myotherapy. I loved the idea of a multi-faceted approach when addressing an injury or condition allowing the patient to achieve their goals. From this inspiration, I completed my Bachelor of Science (Clinical Myotherapy).
In my spare time I go to the gym 4-5 times a week weight training and recently started running with a goal of running 5km (something I have never done before). I love being in the water so living across from the beach and having a pool is where you will find me most of the day when not working.
My journey has been marked by a slower learning curve, but my determination has seen me through the ups and downs of education. Now, armed with a bachelor’s degree, I’m eager to keep learning as a Myotherapies.
