Clinic Changes that WILL occur include:
Therapist Changes
o Sports Physio Britt Calng is one of only 5 Physio’s within Australia Officially Appointed to Australian Team Headquarters Therapist as part of the whole Australian Team. Britt will go into the Village on the 25th March until 16th April so will be unavailable for clinic appointments at this time.
o Sports Physio’s Rick Bain & Leigh McCarthy are Physio’s in the volunteer Physio pool (Rick at the aquatic centre & Leigh at the Indoor venue Carrara) so they will have some periods of unavailability during the Games period.
o Massage Therapist Anthony Evans has been Officially Appointed to work with Team England so will have limited clinic availability both before and during the Games period.
o Exercise Physiologist Kasia Fedorczyk in appointed to the volunteer pool of Strength & Conditioning Therapist located at Village Gym so will also have limited clinic availability
o Frontdesk Team Member and Running Mum, Anne Kurkinen has officially been appointed in a volunteer capacity as Athletics Road Team Leader. She will be working on the marathon, and standby for the Triathlon.
Gold Coast Cycle, Alter-G & Triathlon Studio
Due to limited roads for Cycle Training during the Games period, the Gold Coast Cycle Studio will still have Cycle classes running, but they will be reduced in number.
Gold Coast Run Technique Clinic
There will be NO ‘first-saturday-of-the-month’ Run Technique Clinic for April due to Sports Physio, Britt Caling, being appointed to the Australian Team. There will be a May Clinic, 3pm on the first Saturday in May.
Our Advice
If you have an appointment in clinic, We DO recommend you allow additional time to get to your appointment than normal. Below is the Gold Coast Road system changes that we strongly advise you plan your Routes around to get to either clinic.
Neither Clinic is on restricted Roads, however, there may be more traffic in general using your usual Route to get to our Clinics, so plan your route early, plan to take public transport, or run/ cycle or walk where possible (our Runaway Bay clinic has a Shower that clients are welcome to use)
